Dr. Emily Douglas is chair of the Department of Social Work & Child Advocacy at Montclair State University in New Jersey. She studies family violence, the child welfare system, and children who die from abuse and neglect. She’s published 4 academic books and more than 60 peer-reviewed papers. She recently spent a year in the U.S. Senate working on issues related to vulnerable children in for-profit foster care settings.
